Julien FABRE (TBS 1999) - Behind Umile, the company making vegetable dishes free from all additives

22 March 2021 Entrepreneurship

Umile is a brand of products that are 100% natural and made from peasant farming.

The idea behind creating Umile is to offer an alternative to today's choices when we want to have a snack.

Umile thinks beyond the product, as the company takes into account the environment around the food used, the way it is produced and how it is packaged.

With Umile, Julien and his co-founders are banking on offering natural food products which are good for our health, and the planet.

  • From vegetable varieties which have been selected naturally, from "peasant" farming practices which are often isolated from commercial circuits and are becoming rare.

  • With authentic taste, naturally rich on nutrients and can be eaten everyday.

  • From the land to the plate, without a single artificial input, additive or preservative.

"With the dissapearance of 75% of biodiversity in 50 years, we would like to redevelop edible plants that are not in sales networks today"

The vegetable purées can be eaten any time, hot or cold, at teatime or as a pre-dinner snack, or as a side dish.

Ulule has successfully completed their first campaign. The company is now concentrating on creating other products to increase their range of products on offer.
