Collective Way - Another collective way by Audrey Rigonnaud (TBS Education 2006)

17 January 2023 Association

🤔 What do the following have in common?

➡ 250,000€ invested in a project that stops,
➡ Opex, Capex systematically counted twice,
➡ And a strike in a factory?

Andswer: Men, Women and the lack of communication? Well done! You are very talented👏

Collective Way Paris was born out of this desire to put people back at the heart of organisations for a human, responsible and sustainable development:

  • Helping managers to manage the invisible before it becomes harmful,
  • Helping teams to talk to each other in order to perform,
  • Training managers to accompany the transformation of their company...by transforming themselves.

In business terms, we could say that Collective Way Paris contributes to employee commitment, to creating a shared managerial identity, to increasing team leadership, to supporting change, etc.

Indeed, we talk - in French and in English - about values, leadership (masculine and feminine!), management, social intelligence, emotional intelligence, spirituality (meaning, mission) ..... In short, we value what differentiates Man from machine!

You think it's just talk? A utopia... and you no longer believe in fairy tales. Indeed, all this is undoubtedly very beautiful on paper, but how do we do it?

Well, we let our customers speak for themselves:

👉 In a Commercial Performance Department (food industry): how to manage frustrating meetings and save time on a project?

"- My staff do not take the initiative! Every time we have a meeting, they come with their problems and questions, and these are things they should know how to handle.

- What do you say to them when they come with their questions? What do you tell them when they come with their questions?

- Every time I have to find a solution for them. These are things that they should be dealing with at their level, not mine. We waste time in meetings dealing with these issues!

- Yes, we do. Except that every time they ask the boss a question or a problem, they have a ready-made answer. Why should they do otherwise?"

👉 In a Finance and Supply Chain Department (pharmaceutical group): How to support an organisational change?

"Since the reorganisation was announced, the teams have been tense. It is difficult. We'll have to overcome the resistance and communicate better.

- Communicate. That's fine. What did you do to communicate?

- We gave them a good presentation of the project at the kick-off: the context, the purpose, the objectives we set ourselves, how we were going to proceed... and then the managers explained the approach again in their team meeting.

- Communicating OK. What did you hear from the employees? What did they tell you? If they are afraid, what are they afraid of? What do they need to get moving?

[Silence]

- Communication is a back and forth game: one speaks and the other speaks. If the flow goes in one direction it is information, not communication."

Finally, what is the secret of the Collective Way?

Perhaps it is putting people at the heart of our approach, or working only on an experiential basis, or relying on the power of the collective.

In fact, it can't be explained.
The best thing is to come and test it 😉
