18 October 2018 Entrepreneurship

Julien Labatut (school year 2014) created with 2 friends Stoby, a website to connect student seeking a job and private individuals. He raised 4M€ in cryptocurrency.

Looking for a student job?

Not easy to find a job while doing its studies. To help them in their researches, people from Toulouse founded Stoby, a website to connect student seeking a job and private individuals who need help for day to day work: help to clean, admin tasks, gardening, deliver shopping, studies help, moving furniture, babysitting pets or IT help.

The first version of Stoby, launched last November, has founded its target. “We launch the website to test the market, the turnover was multiplied by 4 in 3 months” summarize Julien Labatut, one of the co-founders.

This TBS graduate has continued his studies at INSEEC Bordeaux, then spent 2 years in Paris as a buyer for petrol platforms in Africa. He left his full-time job to start an entrepreneurial journey with two of his friends:

  • Thomas Mazières (School year 2015), another graduate from TBS and “Sup de Pub”
  • Bertrand Tisseire, doing an internship as a public accountant

Today, the trio wants to accelerate the development of Stoby at an European scale, to achieve this target they launched a presales InitialCoinOffering (ICO) in September, this fundraising required to hire an expert: Alexandre Regourd (school year 2014) from TBS then an American university.

The objective is to make Stoby the first platform for job students being paid in utility tokens. The team targets to sale around 25 million of those token (STB), that’s around 4,3M€ which allow investors to obtain advantages.

“The usage of the blockchain technology, considered unforgeable, will bring more transparency. People will be able to verify the history of the missions done by the students and the notations given by the users. It’s a way to strongly increase the confidence”. Says Julien Labatut. The cofounders imagine other developments such as renting equipment through companies in partnership, the student having the possibility to convert its tokens or to use them to buy goods or services. “Our vision at 10 years is to make the STB token the main student cryptocurrency” confirms Julien Labatut.

Public sales of the STB tokens started the 1st of October
