«When your school sends a strong signal of support, it restores courage »

M1 Student

As her time as a student in the Master in Management programme, Marie-Claire had to cope with financial difficulties as she started L3. She was spotted by the TBS Foundation who provided financial and moral support allowing her to pursue her studies.

''My name is Marie-Claire and this year I am in M1 of the Master in Management programme at TBS. Originally from Abidjan on the Ivory Coast, I studied preparatory classes in Casablanca, Marocco, to be able to apply through BCE and Ecricome exams. I had the choice of integrating several elite higher education establishments in France. One establishment was even prepared to grant me a scholarship if I enrolled there ! However, after the admission day and interviews in Toulouse (and I'm not saying this because I got 20/20 in my personality test !) all I wanted to do was to join TBS. When you leave your home and family far behind you, you hope to find both a welcoming place and people who will help you settle into a family-oriented and relaxed environment.

After one year at TBS, I can clearly say that is exactly what I found.

A year ago, at the beginning of the L3 academic year, things weren't so easy. I didn't have a garantor or know many people, making it very difficult to find lodgings. I had to do with the few contacts I had in France, aware that any solutions I found were only temporary. I needed to stay positive and concentrate on my priority : pass my degree at TBS.

The TBS Foundation was there in these times of doubt. It granted me a 1000€ scolarship which, over and above providing financial aid, was a strong sign of support from my school. This gesture boosted my courage to face all the challenges that lay ahead of me.

With renewed motivation, today I'm looking for a work-study position in the area of commerce or marketing.

I would truly like to thank all the women and men who donate to the TBS Foundation, thus allowing students like myself - motivated and determined - to study in an elite higher education establishment such as TBS, and help our dreams come true.

I am already involved in volunteer and support work (In L3 I was part of the TBS Think & Create solidarity workshop and I helped in the funding of a solidarity grocery) and I hope that in the near future, I in turn, will be able to give back to the Foundation by contributing to merit scholarships''
