Marietou Wade, TBS 2020

25 October 2018 Students

"The human dimension, the essential component of sponsorship"

Marietou Wade (TBS 20) is the first student in TBS's Grande Ecole Program (PGE) to benefit from the TBS Foundation's sponsorship program.

Identified by the program management as a brilliant and deserving student, the TBS Foundation wanted to present Mariétou Wade to sponsors who could help her achieve her personal goals. "I chose TBS for its double major-school course and a higher diploma of management control (DSCG) that fully met my aspirations. The opportunity to follow this program alternately was a real opportunity for me. Indeed, of Senegalese nationality, Marietou Wade cannot claim either a bank loan or financial aid. She met and convinced her future sponsor by her willingness to embark on this path of alternation, a path of excellence that allows students to combine theoretical knowledge and professional practices in business.

Support and advice from a sponsor.

"For my godfather too, it was not served on a silver platter! As a fellow student, he was lucky enough to meet someone who helped him a lot in his professional life. Our meeting gave me confidence again; when we no longer believe in it and someone comes along who understands and helps us, we know we can keep hope intact! Without him, I would not have dropped my project but it would have taken me more time! " His patron, an alumni who wishes to remain discreet, paid the tuition fees of Marietou. He helped her to find the host company for her alternation. And it is as a demanding business leader that he has prepared for the interviews of these large firms. And thanks to her experienced support, advice and kindness, Marietou integrated as she wished the double PGE-DSCG course alternating with a position at EY, in Paris.

The human component

Today financially independent thanks to the alternation (she receives a salary and her tuition fees are borne by the company), Marietou keeps a strong link with her sponsor who continues to follow and advise. "He regularly takes my news! And I have not yet shared with him my ambition to move towards financial analysis but I know that I can talk to him about it. The human dimension has been and remains for me the most important component of sponsorship, "says the student. The sponsor of Marietou appreciated to be able to give meaning to his gift and to put a face on the students that he participates to support. Convinced of the need to sponsor other students, he renewed his commitment and today accompanies a student equally motivated and willing to take advantage of advice and succeed his years at TBS.
